This course is designed for high school students with no previous musical training. Sessions will explore Rock and Roll music from its beginnings in the late 40’s through 1975, examining its influence on social change and culture. You will engage in active music listening, develop a strong music vocabulary, gain knowledge about the influence of music on history, politics, and social issues, as well as research and create projects about several influential artists and trends. You will be doing research that is shared with the class, writing essays, and developing multimedia presentations that will be shared with the class..
