Students must be able to navigate, evaluate, and comprehend digital resources in today’s world of information overload and fake news. In this project-based course students will apply critical reading skills to digital resources from locating and accessing ebooks for pleasure to reading and responding to digital information text to navigating today’s social media and know how to spot fake news. Students will recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning, and working in an interconnected digital world; evaluate online sources for relevance, accuracy and appropriateness for a variety of research purposes and interests; and use digital resources to explore careers, college and create a digital portfolio.
