In this course, students will be given an opportunity to learn about various legal problems and the ways these problems may be solved. Some of the topics covered are: the Constitution, the court system, law enforcement, and teenagers and the law. We will discuss and debate controversial issues including: the death penalty, same sex marriages, privacy, search and seizure laws as well as laws regarding euthanasia and abortion. Current events will play a major role in the course. Emphasis focuses on the responsibilities of citizens in a democratic society.
